A breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure designed to raise, reposition and reshape ptotic (sagging) breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue. This procedure aims to increase the firmness of the breasts, which may have changed due to factors such as ageing, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight fluctuations. During a breast lift, the surgeon makes incisions to access the underlying tissue, lifts the breast tissue to a higher position on the chest wall, and usually repositions the nipple and areola accordingly.

How is the procedure performed?
Anaesthesia Administered
General Anaesthesia is administered for patient comfort and safety through-out the procedure.
Incision Technique
The surgeon makes an incision, usually around the areola complex, down the front of the breast and in the breast crease, to remove excess skin and reposition the existing breast tissue.
Tissue Removal and Reshaping
Excess breast tissue, fat, and skin are removed, followed by reshaping the remaining breast tissue and repositioning the nipple to achieve the desired breast size and contour.
What is the Recovery like?
Recovery from Breast Lift typically involves a few key stages.
- Swelling, bruising, and discomfort are common for a few days.
- Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activities for weeks.
- Follow-up appointments are necessary to monitor healing.
- Final results may take months to develop as swelling decreases.
